Pitching competitions can be a great way to make connections that can aid your business endeavors far into the future. A pitch competition is a contest where entrepreneurs present their business concept to a panel in the hope of winning a cash prize. Even if you don’t win, the pitch competition can be a way to introduce yourself to the business community in Washington County, Maryland.
At least one business owner must be present to pitch the business
Your business must contribute, have a connection, sell product or service to Washington County, Maryland to participate
At least one owner must work full time in the business
Company must be registered in Maryland
Business can not be a non-profit, not-for-profit or non-governmental organization
You understand this Business Pitch is open to the public. You are not required to be a student of Hagerstown Community College or attendee of Hagerstown Startup Week to participate
Business owner must participate in the selection round to be selected for one of eight slots in the final round of the competition
If selected as a finalist, you give Hagerstown Startup Week permission to use your company's logo and name on the 2024 Business Pitch Competition promotional materials
If you become a winner, the funds are a grant to the business. Funds must be used for business purposes only
The winner will be announced at 5pm on May 22 via social media, email and the event Whova app
